Olaf and Eka are the enthusiastic couple behind the Danieli winery. They carefully select organically grown grapes from sun-drenched vineyards located in the rolling hills of the Caucasus Mountains in the north-west Georgian wine region of Kakheti, near the small village of Argohky.
In addition to Kisi, the Danieli winery also produces wines from other indigenous white grape varieties such as Mtsvane and Rkatsiteli as well as from the noble Saperavi grape for Mukuzani. Danieli Kisi is made from 100% Kisi grapes, an indigenous white grape variety with ancient roots that is native to the renowned Kakheti wine region. This variety was almost extinct until 2000 due to the decline of Georgian vineyards after the collapse of the Soviet Union, but has recently been rediscovered.
The European-style Kisi wine has a beautiful straw-yellow colour and intense aromas of tropical fruit, pear, apple, peach and melon. Its flavour is fresh and dry, with a medium alcohol content and balanced tannins. It finishes crisp and is easy to savour. Try it with seafood or steamed fish for a special flavour experience.
